Workshop: Fingerprint Analysis with Advanced Technology, University of Philippines, Manila
The University of the Philippines, Manila,
organized a workshop on "Fingerprint Analysis with Advanced
Technology" on April 19, 2023.
I wholeheartedly thank them for entrusting me to
provide insights on the topic.
Fingerprint analysis is an essential forensic
science technique that involves the examination, comparison, and identification
of fingerprints found at a crime scene or on physical evidence.
A glimpse of what I shared with participants:
- Theoretical explanation of fingerprint analysis
and examination
- A practical demonstration of fingerprint
analysis using advanced technology
- Real-life case study discussion to
illustrate the relevance of fingerprint analysis in solving crimes
- Demonstration of different fingerprint analysis
tools and how they can be used to solve specific cases
The usage of modern technology like PowerPoint
presentations, videos, and other multimedia tools enhanced the engagement among
the participants and gave them hands-on experience and a better understanding
of the topic.
I also planned a few interactive activities to
keep the participants engaged and promote active learning. This also provides
an opportunity for participants to share their experiences, ask questions, and
learn from each other.
The workshop concluded with a Q&A round,
giving participants an opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on
specific topics covered during the workshop.
The workshop was well organized with highly
interactive participants and met the objective of providing students with the
necessary knowledge and skills to apply fingerprint analysis to solving crimes.
A special thanks to Prof. Tess De Guzman for this wonderful opportunity.
