Questioned Document National Conference – Punjabi University Patiala
Questioned document examination is one of the most prominent branches of forensic science and requires a high level of skills and expertise.
Handwriting experts use various tools and techniques to establish the authenticity of the questioned document.
With the increasing number of crimes, the need to develop new techniques and keep up with the latest trends has become essential.
So, with the primary aim to bring eminent QD examiners from all over India on one platform to share their knowledge, a national conference on questioned document examination was organized by Prof. O. P. Jasuja of the Forensic Science Department, Punjabi University, Patiala, in December 2016.
Several top-rated and highly experienced QD examiners, including myself, Phaneendar B N. Deepak Handa, Vijay Verma, Jahangir Nanda, and several others from CFSL and private firms, attended the event.
The three days long conference included a discussion on the current practices followed by QD examiners, what and how we can implement new and improved techniques to speed up the examination process, and what prospects this field offers aspiring QD examiners.
It was a knowledgeable, fun-filled, and interactive event that ended with a warm note from the organizer and filled all the participants with fresh energy. I feel privileged to be a part of such a grand and unforgettable forensic science event.
