AFOHR (Association Forensic Odontology for Human Rights) Meeting - Japan
Forensics runs in my blood, and I feel privileged to be part of several national and international conferences and meetups where I can share my expertise with aspiring forensic enthusiasts and fellow forensic experts.
One memorable experience was the opportunity to be invited as a speaker from India at Association Forensic Odontology for Human Rights (AFOHR) – Japan meeting in Tokyo.
It was:
- Cooperated by the Japanese Unidentified and
Missing Persons Response Team (JUMP)
- Supported by the Japanese Society of Forensic
Dental Science (JSFDS) and the Life Science Foundation of Japan
Apart from professional knowledge-sharing speeches by various Japanese forensic experts and me, I got to explore their culture, city life, nightlife, and food, without which no visit was complete.
Though the experience was entirely different from my homeland, I enjoyed every bit of my stay there.
The cultural variations are what bind people together.
And the most important binding factor was forensics, as crime knows no boundary and affects humanity equally, irrespective of its origin.
All the people I met were incredibly
down-to-earth and humble and made me feel at home away from home.
It was extraordinary meeting with Emilio
Nuzzolese, Evi Untoro, Prof. Akiko, Dr. Khalid, and all the great people of
Japan.
